It’s not snowing in St. Thomas!!

by

Hello from beautiful St. Thomas!!  People say location is everything…and it’s true St. Thomas is a great location, but there’s something to be said for timing this week!!  I had the chance to sneak away for a few days to enjoy some warm weather and in adddition I guess I am missing a bit of snow!!

In addition to some rest and relaxation I’ve had the chance to connect with a number of prospective students and their families during my time in St. Thomas.  Yesterday I visited the Antilles School and saw a number of students including sophmores, juniors and seniors.  Then last night I had the chance to have dinner with four of our applicants and their families.  Two of the students were previously admitted, and I was pleased to share good news with the other two students and their families as their admission letters are still in route.

A fun time was had by all.  There were lots of questions, talk about snow and cold weather, and the chance for me to learn more about St. Thomas.  Now I thought that it would also be a great chance for the students and families get to know each other…but it’s a small world down here and everyone already knew each other!!  All of the stduents have had the chance to visit our campus and hopefully we’ll have all four up for a return visit in April and welcome them as part of WPI’s Class of 2017 in August.

If the gathering sounds like a good time I can’t promise a free trip to St. Thomas, but I can let you know we’ll be having a number of admitted student gatherings across the country over the next few months.  These gatherings are a great way to get all your questions answered and to meet some admitted students from your area.  Locations will be added over the next few months, but there will be events in February in both Florida and California.  Visit the admissions web site for all the details.

Stay safe the next few days…

Ed
