I get a lot of e-mail….maybe not a great surprise to many people out there.  I get e-mail from colleagues, community members, prospective students, parents, people trying to sell me things, and of course junk.  Thankfully most of the junk gets blocked.  I think I am pretty good about keeping up with e-mail, but it’s […]

Homecoming 2012

There are a number of exciting campus events each year at WPI, but one of my favorites is always Homecoming.  Spending most of the day on campus I got to see former tour guides, classmates, faculty, staff, trustees, and of course all the cute children of my friends.  The weather cooperated and a fun time […]

This past year the WPI Office of Admissions received 7,585 first year applications.  Any guesses where WPI is most popular?   Westford Academy (MA) sent us the most applications for the Class of 2016.  The 45 applications from Westford were closely followed by Acton/Boxborough (MA) and Wachusett Regional (MA) with 42 applications respectively. Of course that’s only […]

It’s September so it must be travel season in the admissions office.  The staff is busy hitting the road, meeting with prospective students and parents across the globe.  From Korea to Vermont we have admissions counselors there as I type this. We certainly want you to visit campus this fall, but meeting up with our […]

It’s been a little while since I last posted.  It’s been a busy summer with visitors to campus, summer pre-college programs, and of course recruiting the next incoming class.  The class of 2016 will be arriving over the next couple of weeks, with everyone moving in on or before August 19th.  Just when the craziness of […]

I had the chance to take a quick tour of the construction site in Morgan Hall earlier today.  The dining commons renovation is one of many ongoing projects on campus this summer.  The budget for the project is just over $1 million which will go a long way in creating a new state-of-the-art dining commons […]

The New Sports and Recreation Center

Well it’s been several months since I got inside the new sports and recreation center that’s under construction on the quad.  The entire admissions staff got an insiders tour today and got the opportunity to really see how things will look when the center opens this summer.  There are a number of upcoming opportunities for community members […]

This past week saw a ton of visitors to the Office of Admissions.  Between some of our newly admitted students, and juniors just starting the college search, we welcomed over 300 families to campus.  Most families had a chance to learn more about WPI through our information session, a few had interviews or appointments with faculty, […]
