Key Areas of Focus

One of the main goals of the project is to collaboratively design a sustainable WaSH facility to address the current sanitation issues in Langrug. There are many factors to consider during the planning and execution of the prototype WaSH facility. In order to ensure that the final design is both successful and sustainable, we need to be certain that both the social and technical needs of the community are met. Sustainability relies on making sure that there is active community involvement, an appropriate maintenance and operational plan for after we leave the area, a lasting stakeholder involvement, a technically and structurally strong facility, and an environmentally friendly final product. This section outlines the concept of re-blocking, as well as technical elements and social consideration for this project.
