Meet the Team

DrewDrew DeRubeis is a junior at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) majoring in Mechanical Engineering and minoring in Law and Technology from Milford, Connecticut.  He is involved in many different ways on campus, including working as a Resident Advisor (RA), playing on the varsity baseball team, and being a community outreach chair in Colleges Against Cancer (CAC).  Drew is also a new member of Phi Kappa Theta- Massachusetts Lambda Chapter.  Drew loves working with others to put on worthwhile programs, which he does often as a Resident Advisor for his residents.  In his spare time, Drew enjoys hanging out with friends, playing various sports, and playing guitar.  Drew likes listening to various kinds of music, his favorite band being the Dave Matthews Band.  In the future, Drew has aspirations to work as a Mechanical Engineer, and/or to go to law school to pursue Intellectual Property or Patent law.  In anything Drew does, he strives to make a positive difference in the lives of all parties involved, and the world around him.

 

Liz

Elizabeth Desjardins, Liz for short, is a Junior at Worcester Polytechnic Institute majoring in Environmental Engineering and minoring in Business. Her passion for helping others realize their potential shines through her commitment to the organizations she is involved in on campus which include the Student Government Association, Dance Team, and Alpha Xi Delta Women’s Fraternity. In her free time she enjoys instructing Zumba, listening to country music, watching American football, and camping. You will always find her full of energy with a smile on her face. After graduation, she hopes to work with water purification and own a dance and fitness studio.

 

 

Aaron

Aaron McGinnis is a Junior at Worcester Polytechnic Institute majoring in Chemical Engineering. He is involved in several different club and organizations on campus. He is the president of WPI’s African Percussion and Dance Ensemble, a performing group that practices and performs music rooted in the Ewe culture of Ghana, located in West Africa. He is also a Resident Advisor on campus and the historian for Phi Kappa Theta fraternity. He enjoys working with others to accomplish goals and make those around him happy. For fun, he likes playing sports including soccer, basketball, golf, and Frisbee. He also loves making beats on all types of percussion, ranging from standard drum sets to bongos to the Boba (pictured above). He is passionate about all aspects of music and has a life goal of creating a solo album in which he plays and records all of the instruments.

 

Briana

Briana Rodriguez is a junior at Worcester Polytechnic Institute majoring in Biomedical Engineering from Douglas, Massachusetts. On campus, she is a member of Chi Omega Women’s Fraternity, the Membership/Public Relations chair of the Biomedical Engineering Society, and the Society of Women Engineers.  She also volunteers in a professor’s laboratory, working with graduate students investigating cancer therapeutics. Briana tries to keep an optimistic outlook on life and to make the best out of all situations. In her free time, Briana enjoys drinking coffee and watching hockey. She hopes to go into the research and development sector of the biomedical industry.
