How do you handle stress?

Filed in From the Staff by on November 17, 2010

As we all know WPI, or as a matter of fact any college, is the zone for stress. Some people handle stress really well. Stress drives them to work even better, however some people fall in another category. In this category, stress does not drive people. Instead, it makes them freeze or run away from the object of stress. I unfortunately fall in the latter category.

This entire year, and part of last year I have been stressing out about my future. The question “what am I going to be doing after I graduate” never stops to haunt me.  There are too many possibilities. Do I want to go to grad school? Do I want to work? Do I want to still pursue med school? Or do I want to pursue something else? Recently, I attended the MBA panel held by the CDC, thinking hey maybe it will be helpful incase I decide to pursue that route in the future.  Instead of helping, the panel did the opposite. It confused me even more.

So where am I trying to go with this? The point of this blog isn’t to inform you all about stress, and how to handle it. The point is to do something about it.  If you’re in a dazed and confused situation like me just don’t sit there, do something. Apply to jobs, apply to schools, apply for MBA programs.  Being proactive about something is less scary than not doing anything. Maybe somewhere a long the way you’ll find the thing that you’re supposed to be doing.

I think, doing anything and everything is better than nothing.  What do you think?
