It’s Not Too Late!

Hey all!

You have a busy life; between academics and extracurriculars, your job search may have fallen by the wayside. If you’re anything like me, this might be an accurate representation of your current state:

I’m here to let you know that that is okay! There is no need to hit the panic button! You can still find an opportunity starting this summer. Here are some helpful tips:

  1. Start with Handshake. Employers will be posting internship opportunities through June.
  2. Use LinkedIn. There is a job search function built-in to LinkedIn. Alternatively, you can search “Worcester Polytechnic Institute”, navigate to the university’s LinkedIn page, and click “Alumni”. There, you can see where alumni have worked, showing you companies that like to hire WPI students. From there, you can look further into these companies!
  3. Check out CareerShift. This tool (available in the Resources section of Handshake) aggregates job postings from EVERYWHERE on the internet. If it’s out there, you can find it with CareerShift.
  4. Google can work for you as well. If you search your desired job title and a possible area you would like to work in, tons of job postings come up. You can filter through the results on Google, which is helpful.

Be persistent and good luck! It’s April, but it’s not too late (cue Three Days Grace screaming “IT’S NEVER TOO LATE”)!
