The WPI chapter of Alpha Phi Omega is holding its annual UGLY Man on Campus competition through Friday, Feb. 18. Participants from different student organizations will compete to raise the most money for a charity of their choosing. Donations may be made in the Campus Center.
The UGLY Man on Campus competition challenges each student organization to select their most Understanding, Generous, Loyal, and Youthful (UGLY) representative who will collect donations for a charity of their choosing. Each contestant will have a cup in the Campus Center and one to carry with them all week to collect donations. On Friday the top four earners will be announced. These contestants will then go on to compete in a final push for their cause, with only their cups available to donate to. Whichever contestant has raised the most at the end of the day will have all of the money raised donated to their charity.
Alpha Phi Omega is the premier National Service Fraternity. The WPI chapter has more than 100 active brothers, and it recently inducted the Clarence Plant Pledge Class, with 58 members.
Last year the competition raised more than $2,000, which was donated to the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation, represented by Samantha Wentzell ’11. APO looks forward to having another successful UGLY Man on Campus competition this year and would appreciate any and all donations made to the contestants.
