WPI Wins 3rd Place at Northeast Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition

In only our second year competing in the Northeast Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition (NECCDC), WPI took third place out of 14 teams. Congrats to the team Doran Smestad (captain), Marc Green (co-captain), Anish Athalye, Ryan Danas, Joshua Keller, Ian Naval, Henrique Polido, and Alex Thornton-Clark, and to their faculty advisor, Professor Craig Shue.

Cyber-defense team

Assistant Professor Craig Shue has launched WPI’s first cyber-defense team, a group of undergraduate and graduate students who practice defending systems and networks from cyberattacks. Local companies and agencies participate by attending practice sessions to simulate attacking teams.
