News, Website Redesign

Congratulations to Danielle Riccardi, the first winner of a $25 Amazon gift card. The library has received much feedback already on the new website so far and we welcome additional comments. Take a look  at www.wpi.edu/+library and send us your feedback. Submit feedback if you have not already, to be eligible for next week’s gift card drawing.

 Feedback received included:

  • I absolutely LOVE having today’s hours on the main page. It makes it really easy to check. The overall layout/design of the site is really awesome, it looks a lot better than before.
  • One obvious problem is that I see “Try Summon” and “Use Summon” but no labeled link to Summon!  Library Response: The ALL search is SUMMON and we are changing the featured area today but in the future we’ll keep this in mind.
  • I think it may be beneficial to Freshman to know how much information the library has.   I did not use the databases until GPS, but when I did they were extreemly helpful.  It took me a while to realize how good of a resource the library is.
  • The new library homepage looks far more professional than the previous one. The new homepage is modern and it matches the WPI homepage also. However, I do find that Summon can sometimes take a few seconds to load.  Library Response: We realize Summon can sometimes take a little time, but it searches across so much library content.
  • When we click login (Your Account), why doesn’t it send us to the login for WPI faculty, staff and students?  It is a pain click through an extra page.  Library Response: Thanks for your feedback and we are looking into options to make this easier for users.

Keep the feedback coming!
