A Tour of the Worcester Art Museum

Wednesday, July 24, 2013  12:00 noon – 1:00 p.m.

Worcester Art Museum, 55 Salisbury St., Worcester

For most of history, artists have thought of themselves as carrying out an assignment given to them by their societies; what can the art historian do to figure out what it is? What, as we look at the resulting artwork, is the special kind of gift the artist has that made such “assignments” successful? When does the artist get to tweak her/his “job” for her/his own satisfaction? Come join Professor David Samson on this thought-provoking tour of the Worcester Art Museum.

Please meet at the front entrance to the museum on Salisbury St.
