39/29 : A retrospective show by Lora Brueck

39/29 : A retrospective show by Lora Brueck

Celebrating her retirement after 39 years at Gordon Library, WPI, Lora Brueck presents a restrospective show of 29 years of photography and mixed media art.  During her career at Gordon Library, Lora has curated exhibitions in the library’s galleries and other display areas, as well as showing her own art on several occasions.  This exhibition is a survey of her photography which she began doing in 1984 at the Worcester Center for Crafts.  Photographic series that followed include use of infrared film, handcolored black and white images, and images made with “plastic” cameras.  Subjects include carnival rides, WPI Higgins House, rare books from Gordon Library’s Special Collections, images of Ireland, and trees.  More recent mixed media work includes collage and artist’s books.

A reception will be held on July 30, 2013, 3-5 p.m.
