Welcome Karen Bohrer!


Karen (2) The Gordon Library welcomes to WPI Karen Bohrer, who recently joined the Collections and Systems Management team as the new Collections Assessment and Development Librarian. A graduate of the unique program at St. John’s College and with an MSLS from Catholic University, Karen brings extensive experience with library collections and services to WPI. Her career in US libraries was followed by twelve years in Greece, first at the American College of Thessaloniki where she was the founding director of the Bissell Library, and then at the American School of Classical Studies at Athens where she was the Head Librarian of the Blegen Library. A native New Englander, Karen is happy to be back in this part of the world and looks forward to working with students, faculty, and staff to build and maintain a library collection that meets their needs. Karen also has the distinction of being the first member of the library staff to appear as a contestant on Jeopardy! Please contact Karen if you have questions concerning library collections. Don was the Associate University Librarian at the WPI Gordon Library and, from March 2014 through to his retirement in December 2016, the Acting Director of Library Services. He led the library's Collections and Systems Management team, and oversaw electronic library resources and services as well as the book collection. Don first joined the library staff in 1976.
