Streaming video, a style manual, and the “world on trial”

Based on the enthusiastic response to the recent trials of streaming video services, we’re delighted to announce that both Film on Demand’s Science Collection and VAST from Alexander Street Press are available to the WPI community now!  The Science Collection includes thousands of films covering biology, earth science, engineering, environmental science, geography, mathematics and physical science.  Start watching now by clicking here.    VAST is a multidisciplinary collection containing over 20,000 videos including documentaries, newsreels, performances, and more.  Search VAST: Academic Video Online here.

The Chicago Manual of Style is a valuable resource for any writer, whether of a research paper, book, or blog.  Now in its 16th print edition, it is also available online.

A to Z the World provides thorough guides to 175 countries.  No other single resource brings together so much information on the culture, government, customs, climate and geography, business culture, and language, among other topics for so many countries.   Find it here.

We have it on trial until July 12, 2014.  Please let us know if you think WPI should continue access to this resource.  Click here to send us your feedback.

As the Collections Assessment and Development Librarian, I try to make sure that the library has the resources needed to serve the entire WPI community. I've been with the Gordon Library since January 2014.
