In and Around the Library

The Gordon Library recently added two volumes of case studies to its collection of electronic resources.  Published by Emerald and accessible on the Emerald Insight platform, these 250 peer-reviewed cases focus on business decision making and management development in key global emerging markets.  Limit your search within Emerald Insight to “case studies” and search by country or topic.  Here’s an example of a search for case studies concerning China:

JSTOR has added a new subject collection to its growing inventory of electronic books.  The library has such collections and now we are making available the JSTOR Sustainability Collection.  It includes titles such as Contested Waters: An Environmental History of the Colorado River by April R. Summitt and Culture of Ecology: Reconciling Economics and Environment by Robert Babe.

These two collections are in electronic format but the Gordon Library is adding many print books also.  Newcomers to the collection include Capital in the Twenty-first Centuryby Thomas Piketty, A Critical History of Contemporary Architecture, 1960-2010, and The Well-played Game: A Player’s Philosophyby Bernard De Koven.

As the Collections Assessment and Development Librarian, I try to make sure that the library has the resources needed to serve the entire WPI community. I've been with the Gordon Library since January 2014.
