Worcester Polytechnic Institute is pleased to welcome Theta Nu Xi Multicultural Sorority, Incorporated to join the WPI fraternity and sorority campus community with the founding of Alpha Lambda Colony. Founded at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill in 1997, Theta Nu Xi has 32 collegiate chapters across the United States.
The mission of Theta Nu Xi is to promote leadership, multiculturalism, and self-improvement through academic excellence, involvement in and service to the campus and community, as well as being living examples of sisterhood across different races, cultures, religions, backgrounds, and lifestyles.
As Emily Perlow, Director of Student Activities states, “with the growing number of women on campus, there has also been increasing interest in Greek life over the past few years. The addition of Theta Nu Xi Multicultural Sorority, Incorporated will give more women the opportunity to benefit from Greek life during their undergraduate career while thriving in a multicultural environment.” Currently WPI has 4 sororities, 13 fraternities, making up over 30% of the student population.
