Movie Night

Last night team BEMANY hosted movie night, one of the exercises used to gauge the comfort of the house.

Movin’ at Movie Night

The teams’ scores are based on the quality and design of the home theater system, the ambiance, and the overall experience. Solar Decathlon China organizers gave each house a copy of Inception, so that each television set would run for the same amount of time, thereby measuring the power used.

The Solar Village was organized into five neighborhoods composed of four houses each. It is required that one or more individuals from the neighboring homes attend our movie night. It is also required that we serve our guests snacks, with more points awarded for homemade goodies from fresh ingredients. We served artisan BEMANY flatbreads and fresh fruit. Team members concocted a bruschetta-style flatbread as well as one with melted cheese, honey, and apples. The movie sound was pretty impressive on our Bose speakers.

Teams in attendance were having so much fun getting to know each other that they decided to throw a quick impromptu dance party.

Team BEMANY received one of the highest scores of all the teams for that event, 4.8 out of 5! We had a great time with our neighbors and proved our house is a good place for a good time.
