NASA related Project Based PD Wednesday, May 1, 3:00-6:30 PM
Join us for the last session on this year’s series of project-based STEM activities and assessments. This session will be tied to NASA’s Sample Return Robot Centennial Challenge that will happen at WPI on June 5-8. The project’s challenge will feature integrated science, technology, engineering, and mathematics activity for middle and high school students. The meeting will also include a presentation by WPI’s Robotics Resource Center’s staff who organizes the Centennial Challenge.
NASA Event for Educators Thursday, June 6, 4-6 PM
An exclusive pre-festival event for educators. As part of the Touch Tomorrow Festival and the NASA SRR Centennial Challenge the STEM Education Center is hosting an event for STEM educators (PK-12 teachers and administrators, informal educators, and home school parents). NASA’s educators will lead a hands-on activity (by grade level) and present NASA’s resources for educators. In addition, participants will be able to hear about the Centennial Challenge, meet with the participating teams, and see the different robots.
Bring your Students to WPI June 7, 9:00 AM-1 PM
Plan your last field trip of the year to be at WPI. Bring your students to learn about NASA’s Centennial Challenge, meet the competing teams, explore the different robots, experience some of NASA’s exhibits, and learn about STEM at WPI. There is some money available through WPI to cover the buses so don’t wait to inquire. Open to grades 4 and up.
And don’t forget – June 8 is the Touch Tomorrow festival for the entire family: http://wp.wpi.edu/touchtomorrow/
