Pro Tip Tuesday: Validate Course and Web Links

This one is easy- Canvas has a link checker!  If you have been copying your course content year to year, it’s worth it to run the Canvas link checker to make sure all of your internal links, uploaded content, as well as web resources are active and published.

Canvas will check your content and let you know if something is unpublished, or if the link is not parsed correctly.  Run this link checker before your class begins to make sure you aren’t sending them to a dead end during a crucial time in your class!

How to do it

In Course Navigation, click on Settings.

In the sidebar on the right hand side, click on Validate Links in Content

Click Start Link Validation

To include links in unpublished course content, click the Show links to unpublished content checkbox
