2011 Cape Town Project Centre Students

In 2011, Project Centre students worked on a half dozen exciting projects with sponsors and communities that extended us geographically — from Cape Town to Franschhoek — and thematically. We explored issues familiar to the Centre (e.g., water and sanitation provisioning and greywater management in informal settlements, and asset-based community development more broadly) and new areas of research, including on river restoration and honeybee entrepreneurism!

We are enourmously grateful to all our sponsors, and to community members, colleagues and friends in Langrug, Maitland Garden Village, Oude Molen Eco Village, Manenberg, Cape Town, Stellenbosch and Hermanus.

The GE Foundation once again gave generously to the Centre, this time to support our work with community partners innovating new approaches to water, sanitation and hygiene provision and processes of sustainable community development in informal settlements. Thank you!
