Congratulations, Class of 2016!
We’ve checked them twice.
It’s official: over 25% of the Master’s degrees awarded by WPI this spring went to working professionals. That’s right; 187 of the newly minted WPI masters came from our online and corporate education programs.
To celebrate this momentous occasion, WPI CPE hosted a reception for its graduates on Thursday, May 12, here in Worcester, Massachusetts.
Our online graduate programs connect us with ambitious minds all over the world. Students came from as close as Connecticut and far away as California to take part in the graduation festivities. One graduate’s parents flew in from Florida for the big day; another brought his whole family with him from Missouri. It was inspiring to see our new graduates meet their professors and support teams in person for the first time, finally putting faces to the names and voices that helped them reach this impressive milestone in their lives.
The other star of the party was our seven-foot-tall, inflatable Gompei. Graduates and their families had a blast taking photos with him, and even the CPE staff got in on the fun! An extra-special congratulations to Blaine Stuart, a brand-new MBA grad and the winner of our #GompAndCircumstance photo contest. We are sending him a bunch of WPI alumni swag for his home, office, and car. Show it off with pride, Blaine! You’ve earned it.
Congratulations to all of our graduates: those we had the pleasure of meeting, and all the others who are out there in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, New York, Delaware, Virginia, New Mexico, Nevada, and Canada. We wish you luck and lifelong learning, wherever your new degrees may take you.
