The Career Fair is September 15th!!

So it’s that time of year again and the Fall Career Fair is just around the corner. (It’s hard to believe that it’s less than a week away!) I feel like I’m just finally starting to settle back into the WPI routine and already I have to start thinking about what I want to do after graduation. Thinking about what I want to do, what company I want to potentially work for, where I want to live – basically what I want to do with the rest of my life – is a little scary. I know I just made that sound way more dramatic than necessary, but it’s definitely something to think about and prepare for.

Preparing. I have to admit..again I got caught up in my classes and activities and haven’t focused as much on getting ready for the Career Fair as I should have. But it’s my senior year, so this is one that I really want to get ready for. Luckily I still have time. I need to add some finishing touches to my resume – I’d like to think it’s pretty good right now, but I definitely do need to add my summer internship and a few current projects. I also need to figure out what I’m wearing. (Thankfully after years of going to formal sorority meetings I have a lot of options for formal business attire.) And, most importantly, I need to do research. All of the companies are posted in Job Finder as well as descriptions of who they are and who they’re looking for. I scanned through all of the companies pretty quickly earlier today – there are 125 coming! – and definitely found a few that I want to go back and research further. Its a relief knowing that there are a bunch of companies I’m interested in and that I could be a potential candidate for.

I wish all of you the best in your preparations and see you on Wednesday!
