Debating Between Graduate Schools

Filed in From the Staff by on February 3, 2012

I have been debating between graduate schools ever since I declared my undergraduate major. I have thought about applying to other universities in the US and in Europe while also considering WPI’s fifth year program. The biggest factor in attending another graduate school for my masters is getting an alternative perspective on engineering; in Europe, this would be even more dramatic. I believe this significant change in learning style would be really interesting and beneficial to my engineering career.

Studying engineering in Europe I have heard is very challenging and attending another university in America would be expensive. Although there are benefits to other graduate schools, the fifth year masters program makes WPI a favorable choice. It would cost less and take only one additional year to complete; it makes it hard to refuse. With all this said, I will be applying for the BS/MS program at WPI by the end of this term.

You don’t need to go to graduate school for a great job, but if you are interested I hope this helps you with your decision between universities.
