Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

Hey Everyone!!

I hope all of you had a fantastic time at the Fall Career Fair, I know I did! Hopefully you read my last blog and so now you are prepared and have business cards for all employers you met with. If you didn’t grab business cards, forgot, or the employers didn’t hand them out, don’t worry! Come by the CDC because we have a database of all the employers that came and their business cards.

With that being said, now that you have their information, it is time to write the Thank You Note/Email. You might be thinking, why should I write one? Well, the most obvious reason is to show your appreciation. Also, these notes actually make you to stand out from other candidates applying for the same position, allow you to form relationships, and supply your contact information. Most important, this note will allow you to highlight the positive aspects of your interaction with the employer and suggest a call for action (either interview or offer).

So what are you waiting for? Click here to find the CDC Tipsheet for writing thank you notes and send those out immediately (since it has been almost 2 weeks since the career fair).

If you have already had an interview, make sure to send a thank you note for that as well. Final advice, make sure you personalize each thank you note. Sending out a generic one is really not that useful and the person reading them will not be impressed.

Thanks for reading and until next week!
