About Worcester Polytechnic Institute

WPI was founded in Worcester Massachusetts in 1865, and was one of the nation’s first universities dedicated to engineering and technology. WPI’s founding motto of Theory and Practice continues to underlie our academic programs – ensuring what students learn in the classroom will transfer into their career. WPI has undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs focusing on science, technology, engineering and business, with more than 4,800 students enrolled.

WPI’s Corporate and Professional Education (CPE) has over 50 years of experience developing and delivering over 4,000 programs to corporations worldwide, educating over 100,000 professionals. All programs are taught by WPI faculty and adjunct faculty.
