Highlight: Corporate Sponsored Projects
Have you ever thought about a challenge or idea for your business, but just didn’t have the bandwidth to explore it properly? Collaborating with a strong university built on project-based learning and faculty-student-business partnerships is a great solution. The projects program at WPI is the university’s signature approach to undergraduate education, combining theoretical study with practical problem solving. We bring together the brilliant minds and talents of our student and faculty advisors with a wide variety of corporate, government, and nonprofit organizations. Collaboratively, our faculty and students address real business needs, working with you to create meaningful results.
Through corporate-sponsored projects, WPI students provide significant research and design work and thoughtful business analytics—in some cases students have even developed new technologies for sponsors to utilize in their businesses. Corporate sponsors of Major Qualifying Projects (MQPs) benefit from having talented students working to solve a problem under the guidance of a WPI faculty member and company mentor. These projects may be focused on one major or discipline, or they may be interdisciplinary and involve multiple faculty advisors and students.
Come explore a sponsored project with WPI and build a deeper relationship with our students and faculty. Students will be selecting projects over the next few months for the 2016–17 academic year. To learn more about sponsorship opportunities or to pitch your idea, contact David Ortendahl, director of corporate relations, at dbo@wpi.edu.
Still not sure if a sponsored project is a good idea for your company? Save the date for Project Presentation Day on Thursday, April 21, 2016. Students will showcase this year’s MQPs for faculty, peers, guests, and current and future sponsors. We are confident you will be impressed.
