RBE Networking Night 11/29/16

This annual meet-and-greet brings together WPI’s best robotics students, alumni, and faculty, as well as industry representatives. Members of Rho Beta Epsilon, WPI’s Robotics Honor Society, would love the chance to network with representatives from your company to learn about their experiences in the field and to connect about potential opportunities. The event will be held Tuesday, Nov. 29, from 4 to 6 pm in Riley Commons at WPI. If you’re interested in hiring students from Robotics Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science and would like to join us for some refreshments and represent your company at this year’s meet and greet, RSVP to bshappell@wpi.edu. An email confirming your attendance and other logistical information will be sent the week before the event. To learn more about WPI’s Robotics Engineering program, refer to the Major Highlight in this edition of the newsletter.

Staff Changes at the CDC

We are excited to announce some recent promotions and additions to the team at the CDC. We welcomed Cathy Tomaso to the office in August as a senior recruiting coordinator. She brings experience in higher education and corporate settings, and will be responsible for assisting companies with general recruiting initiatives, managing all information sessions and other related events, recruiting services with employers, and student advising/workshops. Bailey Rand was promoted to assistant director of employer relations. In this role, she will build on her success in the office in order to supervise recruiting services, be more involved in strategic planning efforts, and focus more on proactive outreach to our employer partners.

MS in Data Science Goes Virtual

“Big data” rules today, and data scientists are needed in every industry. Starting in January, WPI’s popular MS in Data Science program will also be offered online to meet growing interest and demand. Connect with us to see what makes our master’s program different! RSVP for the Virtual Open House on Thursday, November 17.
