Projects

At the Hawai‘i Project Center, we work with local sponsoring organizations to identify needs of those organizations that are consistent with the academic mission of the project program. The center focuses on areas that are of great interest or impact in Hawai‘i, and this includes (but is not limited to) topics in the broad area of sustainability.

The center had its inaugural year in 2020, with four teams of students working with sponsors on the island of Hawai‘i. In winter of 2021,the Covid pandemic prevented us from traveling, and four teams of students completed their projects remotely. Starting in winter of 2022, the center began operating out of Honolulu, with projects located on the island of Oahu.
