Title: Charlie Brooker’s How Videogames Changed the World

Author: Charlie Brooker

Collection Notes:

“How Videogames Changed the World” is a historical overview of 25 significant games from 1972’s “Pong” up to the state of gaming in 2013, presented by Charlie Brooker, the later creator of Black Mirror. The point of view is (expectedly) very UK-centric, but it manages, in an entertaining format, to give the broad strokes of both:

  • the basic elements of interactive media as demonstrated by videogames and the audiences that interact with them; and
  • the significant impact of videogames and videogame development on modern life.
