Welcome back! Get your academic year off to a great start by checking out the following workshops being offered by Gordon Library for A Term:

 Create New EZProxy Links to Full Text Ebooks, Online Articles, and Content in myWPI  Instructor: Christine Drew

Description: For Faculty, Graduate Teaching Assistants, and Staff

 New EZProxy Access to resources from off campus began May 18th. Learn how to connect students with library-provided content including ebooks, ebook chapters, research databases, specific articles and/or journals.

Interested in creating your own links to full text articles or pre-defined searches in ScienceDirect, EBSCO Business Source Premier, JSTOR, Expanded Academic ASAP, and other databases? Attend to learn best practices for adding persistent links within your myWPI course site to our subscribed content. We plan to cover the following: databases and online journals that allow persistent links:

  • databases and online journals that allow persistent links
  • how-to create the links and add them to your site
  • copyright implications

 Thomas P. Card Camera Collection

 Please join us as Rachel Katz, WPI Class of 2009, presents a gallery talk and shows items from the Thomas P. Card Camera Collection at noon on Thursday, September 1st in the Gordon Library Gladwin Gallery. Rachel organized the collection and curated the exhibit which is comprised of cameras, lenses, and related accessories ranging from the late 1840s through the 1960s. A series of exquisite artistic photographs and posters of the collection accompany the exhibit. We invite you to come explore and learn more about this extraordinary collection of rare and interesting photographic equipment.

Hands-on: Learn how to get started with RefWorks: a bibliographic database & citation management tool. Create a personal database of your references then output them into many formats (MLA, APA, plus 100s more). Integrates with MS Word to create in-text references too.
