Tuesday, June 5, 2012, 12:00 noon-1:00 p.m.
Gladwin Gallery-Gordon Library,
Presenter: Prof. Charles Innis
In case you missed the Morgan Exhibit Gallery Talk by Prof. Innis in February, you will have the opportunity to attend his talk next Tuesday, June 5 at 12:00 noon in the Gladwin Gallery. Get an insider’s perspective on the inner workings at Morgan Construction Company over the years and learn many interesting facts about the company and its work that perhaps you were never aware of. The exhibit will be taken down on Thursday, June 7th so this will be your last chance to catch this presentation.
The internationally renowned Morgan Construction Company played a major role in Worcester’s industrial history for many years, “constructing” steel rolling mills which were among the fastest in the world. The Morgan family has long been connected with WPI, ever since Charles Hill Morgan helped establish the Washburn Shops in 1868. WPI is indeed fortunate that the Morgan family has generously donated the Morgan Construction Company’s extensive company archives to our institution. Please join us on Tuesday, June 5th at noon as Charles Innis, Adjunct Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering at WPI and a 28 year veteran of the Morgan Construction Company, leads a talk and tour of the Morgan Company exhibit in the Library’s Gladwin Gallery. Come explore this impressive collection firsthand! Professor Innis will be available for questions before and after the tour.
