In addition to the 10,000s of Open Access resources available in the Gordon Library collections, we also offer tools to the WPI community that support open systems of scholarly communication, including Open Access journal publishing and personally-curated, dynamic scholar profiles.
These tools, combined with the institutional repository, DigitalCommons@WPI (digitalcommons.wpi.edu) offer ways to showcase and make available both individual and departmental research and scholarship. The online tools are free to the WPI community to use, so check them out today!
SelectedWorks (works.bepress.com) is an online tool that helps scholars announce and share a range of published and unpublished works, including articles, working papers, presentations, and other publications. Optimized for search engines and offering tools that help colleagues and readers follow and individual’s work , SelectedWorks helps authors promote their scholarship and also be part of a community of research and information.
SelectedWorks content can also be connected back to WPI’s institutional repository and be featured on personal websites.
DigitalCommons@WPI also offers a portal to manage the submission, peer review, and publishing of online journals. Organizational Aesthetics, edited by WPI faculty member, Steven Taylor, demonstrates the usability and versatility of the platform.
