“You’re My Best Friend” in Class of 1970 Cafe Gallery

D Term’s exhibition in the Class of 1970 Café, “You’re my Best Friend” by Jess Baer, is sure to put a smile on your face. “You’re my Best Friend” is a collection of endearing pet portraits, consisting of either oil on masonite or watercolor with ink. Jess paints amusing and playful depictions of our best friends, which capture the animal’s personality and charm. Focusing mostly on dogs of varying breeds, these portraits pay tribute to the owner’s love and devotion that can only be felt through these kinds of bonds.

JoshuaJess Baer grew up in West Bridgewater, MA and attended Massachusetts College of Art & Design, receiving a B.F.A. with a focus in Illustration in 2007. Her body of work ranges from classic traditional and digital illustrations to sculptural ceramics. As a member of the WPI’s Academic Technology Center (Technology for Teaching and Learning) team since October 2014, Jess fulfills her 2nd passion of introducing people to new and exciting technology.
