Michael Slater to speak about Charles Dickens on Friday, April 8th

SlaterMichael Slater, author of a recently published biography of Charles Dickens, will speak at a meeting of the Worcester Area Dickens Fellowship at 4 p.m. on Friday, April 8th,  in the Gordon Library Conference Room, GL 303.  Slater is Emeritus Professor of Victorian Literature at Birkbeck College, University of London, and Past President of the International Dickens Fellowship and the Dickens Society of America.  He has lectured on Dickens and other Victorian writers to audiences in Europe, North America and Japan.

Before Professor Slater’s talk, at 3:45 in GL 303,  Jacquelyn Tupper, winner of the Robert Fellman Memorial Scholarship Prize, will read her essay, “Miss Jenny Wren: Laudable Protagonist.”

This meeting is free and open to the public.
