Morgan Construction Company: Revolutionizing the Rolling Mill Industry Worldwide – Gallery Talk
Thursday, February 16, 2012
12:00 noon- 1:00 p.m.
Gladwin Gallery, Ground Floor, Gordon Library
The internationally renowned Morgan Construction Company played a major role in Worcester’s industrial history for many years, “constructing” steel rolling mills which were among the fastest in the world. The Morgan family has long been connected with WPI, ever since Charles Hill Morgan helped establish the Washburn Shops in 1868. WPI is indeed fortunate that the Morgan family has generously donated the Morgan Construction Company’s extensive company archives to our institution. Please join us on Thursday, February 16th at noon as Charles Innis, Adjunct Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering at WPI and a 28 year veteran of the Morgan Construction Company, leads a talk and tour of the Morgan Company exhibit in the Library’s Gladwin Gallery. Come explore this impressive collection firsthand! Professor Innis will be available for questions before and after the tour.
Hope to see you there!
