Richard Sisson Selected as Outstanding Materials Engineer by Purdue University

Richard Sisson, WPI Professor and Director of the Center for Heat Treating Excellence (CHTE), has been chosen by The Purdue University, School of Materials Engineering as one of three Outstanding Materials Engineer award winners for 2014 for his work in applying fundamental science in transport phenomena, phase transformations, and phase equilibria to a wide range of engineering materials systems, as well as for his leadership within academia in his role as Dean of Graduate Studies at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. The award was established by The Purdue University, School of Materials Engineering to recognize alumni who have demonstrated exemplary accomplishments and leadership in some aspect of the field of Materials Science and Engineering or an affiliated profession.
