The Guitarduino was an effort to take the common system of a self playing guitar, and rather than focusing on the simple strum style of playing, working with hammer on techniques. The end result was a product with a custom chassis controlled by four solenoids which could activate one section of a fretboard respectively, and a linear actuator to allow for motion between strings. The result is an interesting proof of concept that requires a more powerful motor to allow for true simulation of hammer on, but was successful in being able to reproduce a pentatonic scale.
