Summary of Interview
Ryan Kelley is an artist and a business owner in Newburyport, Massachusetts. The pandemic has reduced the sales of Ryan’s art and interest in his commissions. He fears that his business may not recover. Due to social distancing guidelines and business closures, Ryan is unable to get new materials. He has been able to maintain some income by making products with materials he has on hand, but has lost “a ton of revenue, that now I have nothing”. The limits on gatherings have impacted Ryan’s social health because he can’t see his friends and misses building professional relationships with others. His hope for the future is that people are prepared for any situation because no one ever knows if anything like COVID-19 will occur again.
