Summary of Interview

This interviewee is a female car sales representative in Hillsborough County, New Hampshire. Before the pandemic, she would build relationships with clients to personalize their experience. The pandemic has made building such relationships harder and decreased the number of customers coming in to buy cars. While the dealership where she works is cleaned hourly for staff and client safety, she still isolates herself at home, in the hopes of protecting her five-month-old nephew’s health. She is frustrated that dealerships are still open during the pandemic because she feels that “car sales is considered essential when it’s not actually an essential business”. She hopes that in future pandemics, people are more prepared and governments more willing to shut down businesses to protect public health.
