Among the range of products and services offered through the Center for Project-Based Learning is consultation visits by project-based learning experts in the areas pedagogy, implementation, and assessment and evaluation. Our Center experts can provide guidance for your leadership team, curriculum committee, department, or interdisciplinary group to set goals for project-based learning and for work towards achieving those goals. They also can aid in designing PBL-friendly systems to effectively measure, document, and disseminate your efforts and accomplishments. Sometimes having an outside evaluator brings particular objectivity and clarity to unpacking the value of your project-based learning work. Our evaluation consultants can provide expertise from developing a plan through determining recommendations based on appropriate data collection and analysis. In addition to on-site visits, our team can provide you with resource materials that will help you advance your project-based learning efforts.
Drawing on nearly 50 years of experience integrating project-based initiatives into undergraduate education, WPI has a diverse team of faculty and staff representing disciplines in the humanities, engineering, sciences, social sciences, and business with expertise in all facets of project work—from classroom implementation and coordination of student project work around the globe, to leading curricular change, spearheading faculty development, supporting project-based learning across the curriculum, and assessing student project work and evaluating project-based learning initiatives. Your institution will have the opportunity to consult and be mentored by WPI experts whose backgrounds and experience align with your institutional goals and needs.
