Ellie Researches 3D Printing Food For Her STAR Award!

This summer, Ellie is researching 3D food printing and exploring the potential ways it can be applied as part of her Summer Training in Arts & Sciences Research (STAR). Ellie describes that, “3D food printers produce food products that are both pretty and practical. These 3D food products can be used to improve eating experiences for everyone, from a soldier in the field to an elderly person in a nursing home. 3D printing food allows us to increase nutritional benefits, customize ingredients, and create food products that look and taste amazing. This project is unique because it combines psychology, food science, and engineering perspectives to achieve our goals. I am incredibly passionate about health psychology, and I excited to be a part of such an impactful project!” Click here and here to see how the 3D food printing works!
