OFFICE LOCATION:

Soboyejo Lab. (Higgins Lab)

About me:

Ridwan is a Ph.D. student at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI). His background is Physics but currently conducts research in the Materials Science and Engineering Department. Ridwan is fascinated by applying his knowledge of Physics and Materials to understand structure-property relation in materials. Ridwan’s passion for knowledge and innovation has won him several accolades which include but not limited to best graduating student award (African University of Science and Technology (AUST) Abuja), second best innovator award (AUST), academic excellence award (Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria). Ridwan hopes to take up an academic position in a reputable university in the near future.

Education:
  • M.Sc. (2017) ꟷ Materials Science and Engineering (African University of Science and Technology – Galadimawa Abuja, Nigeria)
  • B.Sc. (2014) – Physics (Ahmadu Bello University – Samaru Zaria Kaduna, Nigeria)
Research:

Study electrochemical and mechanical performance of composite polymer electrolyte-based Li-ion batteries. Study the effects of oxide thickness and spray velocity on the bonding mechanism in cold sprayed refractory alloys.
