Abstract: As a nonrenewable material with uneven distribution around the world, graphite is now listed as the restricted product by the Asian countries who provide over 99% of the graphite resource. Meanwhile, the state-of-the-art battery recycling process always ignore the value of graphite, making it burnt or downcycled. To build a close-loop graphite recycling process for environmental and economic concerns, our group developed a novel scalable recycling method which can synthesis modified graphite with high purity, high stability, and better rate retention.
