Kathleen Wang

B.S. Engineering, Harvey Mudd College, 2008
M.S. Chemical Engineering, WPI, 2011
Ph.D. Candidate in Biomolecular Engineering, expected 2013

Kathleen’s work focuses on understanding how antimicrobial peptides interact with model cell membranes. This work has implications for the creation of antimicrobial materials and for biosensors that bind with and detect certain bacterial pathogens. This work has been funded by the U.S. Army and is done in collaboration with scientists from Natick Soldier Research Development and Engineering Center.

 Todd Alexander

B.S. Chemical Engineering, WPI, 2011

Ph.D. Candidate in Chemical Engineering, expected 2016

Todd’s project focuses on antimicrobial peptides. He is working to develop a method by which we can bind an antimicrobial peptide to a surface, yet still be able to retain the activity of the peptide against pathogenic bacteria, such as E. coli.

Todd is currently an IGERT Fellow.
