Environmental Conservation & Education

Conserving the natural environment—through initiatives such as expanding urban green areas, adopting sustainable waste management, and protecting waterways—is essential not only for improving air quality and urban resilience but also for enhancing residents’ quality of life. At the same time, environmental education empowers citizens to understand environmental issues and adopt sustainable habits. Over the years, WPI students have worked with non-profit and non-governmental environmental organizations to assess environmental issues and explore creative ways to engage citizens through citizen science and environmental education.
