Drying It Out – TouchTomorrow

In this presentation, we will introduce you with the world of drying. You will get a basic understanding of the concept of drying and the importance of drying. You will also learn about multiple innovative drying technologies that are developed in CARD. Our undergraduate researcher will also share his personal experience of working in the research lab and WPI.

Elif Asar is a PhD Student at WPI and first discovered her passion for science and engineering when she was watching engineering documentaries on TV as a little girl. She likes doing ballroom dancing and paintings.

John Mansour: John’s favorite video game is Red Dead Redemption. He used to play soccer and he likes to collect old coins and dollars. He also enjoys learning history, geography, and other interesting facts about the world. He gravitated to STEM due to his love for math and physics. He has enjoyed his time at WPI so far, and everyone he has met has been very kind and friendly.

Zahra Noori is a PhD student in Mechanical Engineering. She has been a curious person since she was a child and she has always had a passion for math and science. She likes playing guitar, hiking, baking, and other outdoor activities. She also loves space exploration. A fun fact about Zahra is that she believes that one day she will explore a planet and will name it Zahra’s planet 😊

Mengqiao Yang is a Ph.D. student working on novel drying techniques with electric field. His hobbies include hiking, readings, video games, etc. As a STEM nerd, he likes to explore the mechanism behind the natural phenomena and embrace the scientific challenges.

Jamal Yagoobi - Professor & Department Head, Mechanical Engineering -I enjoy teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Teaching is very rewarding, and it allows me to interact with the students. My teaching portfolio includes undergraduate and graduate level courses in the areas of heat transfer, fluid mechanics, liquid/vapor phase change, thermodynamics, and design of thermal systems.
