The User-Friendly Characterization Laboratory (UFC Lab) in the Physics Department at Worcester Polytechnic Institute was created to serve students, staff, and faculty with easy-to-use characterization techniques, especially for studies of nanomaterials. External use can be arranged on a fee basis.

The UFC Lab is run by volunteers from the WPI faculty and staff. Unfortunately, we cannot be as responsive as we would like in training people. In time, we hope that WPI will support a full-time staff member to do so. Please plan your research well in advance.
