Design and Build an Electric Racecar for your MQP!
Looking for a hands-on MQP? Consider applying to join the Formula Electric SAE MQP!
We are seeking students from all majors, especially ECE, CS, RBE, and ME to design, fabricate, and compete with our next generation electric car for the 2025-2026 academic year.
Formula Society of Automotive Engineers (FSAE) is an engineering design competition where college students build Formula-1 style Racecars. The competition provides students with the opportunity to enhance their engineering design and project management skills by applying classroom knowledge to a challenging project. This year, WPI’s FSAE MQP will build our second fully electric car from the ground up and bring it to competition! This will be our first attempt at a one year build cycle electric car, it will be time intensive and extremely rewarding. Our transition to electric has made the MQP extremely interdisciplinary. We are recruiting for Power Electronics, Control systems, Data Acquisition, Embedded Programming and Mechanical Systems
You don’t need to have any experience with building a Racecar or with Automobiles; this is a way to learn about designing a system from the ground up.
