The Artificial Intelligence and Modeling Laboratory for Cardiovascular Diseases (AIMCardio Lab) is dedicated to advancing our understanding of cardiovascular (and cerebrovascular) biomechanics and physiology through the use of artificial intelligence, computational fluid models, and physiological mock flow loops. Our goal is to develop innovative, smart methods for personalized diagnosis, prevention, and treatment (such as surgeries, interventions, and medical devices) of cardiovascular (and cerebrovascular) diseases, ultimately improving patient care.
Overarching research themes:
- Artificial intelligence-enhanced biomechanical and physiological modeling (both on the computer or on the benchtop) for disease diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment
- Digital twins for medical device design, development, and testing
