Ventricular Assist Device

We are currently working on optimizing an innovative ventricular assist device (VAD) system, which aims to provide strong support while maintaining a much smaller size. The idea is to combine the pump, motor, and control console of a regular VAD system into one small, integrated system, allowing patients to carry it in their daily lives and engage in mild exercise.

First, we validate the computational model with experimental data, as shown below. With the validated model, we can cost-efficiently examine improvements to the VAD and generate prototypes for the next iteration. Our model can save significant resources in the R&D process.
