AWM was excited to have Prof. Maria Fung visit us and share about her experiences as a college professor at a state university serving a diverse body of students.
Maria Fung is a professor of mathematics at Worcester State University. Her main interests lie in the mathematical preparation of K-12 teachers, inquiry-based and active learning pedagogy, and quantitative literacy. In recent years, she has been focusing on using contemplative practices in the college mathematics classroom, as a way to reduce mathematics anxiety and create opportunities for all students to grow.
